Podium Presentation Guidelines

  • Presentation Length: All podium presentations are 6 minutes in length unless otherwise instructed. Please appreciate that strict time keeping will be necessary in order to ensure the meeting runs to schedule.
  • Presentation Upload: Podium presentations should be uploaded onsite in the Speaker Ready Room.

Presentation Specifications

Presenters are required to include a disclosure slide at the start of their presentation. The disclosure may be the first or second slide, after a title slide.

PowerPoint (.ppt or .pptx) in 16:9 aspect ratio is the recommended format for your presentation and the default configuration for podium presentations.


ePoster with Short Talk Presentation Guidelines

ISTA Toronto’s ePoster with Short Talk presentations will be a hybrid between traditional poster and podium presentations. ePoster presenters will give 3 minute oral presentation focusing on methodology and interpretation of results at one of our 8 ePoster kiosks, which will be followed by a 3 minute moderated discussion.

Upload instructions were emailed to presenting authors Thursday, September 19th. ePoster presentations should be uploaded to ISTA by Wednesday, October 2, 2019, 11:59 PM (Canada/Eastern).

Note: Printed posters will not be accepted.

ePoster Presentation Specifications

  • Must be .ppt or .pptx
  • 16:9 aspect ratio
    • In PowerPoint: File / Page Setup / On-screen Show (16:9)
  • Image, audio and video files are allowed in your presentation.
  • Acceptable file types
    • Images: jpg, png, gif
    • Video: avi, mp4, wmv
    • Audio: mp3, wav, wma
  • The total length of your presentation must not exceed 3 minutes.
  • Do not include hyperlinks.
  • Embed all multimedia files in your PowerPoint document.

ePoster Kiosk Hardware

  • PC Laptop
  • 55″ LED display in landscape orientation

Aesthetic Guidelines

  • Use a sans serif typeface such as Arial or Calibri.
  • Text should be no smaller than 12 pt.

 


Young Investigator Session Presentation Guidelines

Each Young Investigator session will consist of an audience of investigators working in a specific subject area. Each presenter will give a 3 minute presentation from the podium focusing on methodology and interpretation of results. The moderators will take audience questions and comments and will then make constructive critiques of the work presented with suggestions for the presenter. There will be a generous allowance for discussion.

Young Investigator presentations should be uploaded onsite in the Speaker Ready Room.

Silent ePoster Presentation Guidelines

ISTA Toronto’s Silent ePoster presentations will be a digital version of traditional printed posters. There will be no scheduled in person presentation of Silent ePosters.
