The Shark Tank session is an exciting component of the International Society for Technology in Arthroplasty (ISTA) program on new inventions related to arthroplasty. During this session, inventors are given an opportunity to present their latest innovations to a panel drawn from industry and academia. Rather than presenting scientific data in the standard academic format, they tell the audience about an important problem related to arthroplasty and their own novel solution.
Please note the following ground rules:
- This opportunity is offered to inventors from commercial entities and/or academic institutions.
- Technology incorporated in products already offered for sale prior to the ISTA conference is not eligible.
- Inventions need to directly relate to arthroplasty. They can include devices, methods, processes, materials or software. Innovations can be in clinical care too, patient records, outcomes, navigation, imaging, operating room efficiency, sterility, sensors, digital health, and artificial intelligence, etc.
- Important: Before disclosing any new innovations to ISTA, including conference attendees, presenters are responsible for the intellectual protection (e.g. provisional patent submission) of any intellectual property disclosed during their presentation.
If you have an invention and would like to participate, please submit an abstract under the “General – Inventions” category by Friday April 24th, 2020 at 11:59pm. In your abstract, please make sure you tell us about the problem you are addressing as well as your novel solution.
