Podium Presentation Guidelines

  • Presentation Length: All podium presentations are 5 minutes in length unless otherwise instructed. Please appreciate that strict time keeping will be necessary in order to ensure the meeting runs to schedule.
  • Presentation Upload: Podium presentations must be uploaded onsite in the Speaker Ready Room by 5:30 pm the day before your presentation.  For example, if your presentation is on Friday, your PowerPoint must be uploaded by Thursday 5:30 pm

Presentation Specifications

Presenters are required to include a disclosure slide at the start of their presentation. The disclosure slide must immediately follow your title slide.

PowerPoint (.ppt or .pptx) in 16:9 aspect ratio is the recommended format for your presentation and the default configuration for podium presentations.

ePoster with Short Talk Presentation Guidelines

ISTA Maui’s ePoster with Short Talk presentations will be a hybrid between traditional poster and podium presentations. ePoster presenters will give 3 minute oral presentation focusing on methodology and interpretation of results at one of our 8 ePoster kiosks, which will be followed by a 3 minute moderated discussion.

Note: Printed posters will not be accepted.

ePoster Presentation Specifications

  • Must be .ppt or .pptx
  • Your power point can be 5-7 slides maximum
  • 16:9 aspect ratio
    • In PowerPoint: File / Page Setup / On-screen Show (16:9)
  • Image, audio and video files are allowed in your presentation.
  • Acceptable file types
    • Images: jpg, png, gif
    • Video: avi, mp4, wmv
    • Audio: mp3, wav, wma
  • The total length of your presentation must not exceed 3 minutes.
  • Do not include hyperlinks.
  • Embed all multimedia files in your PowerPoint document.

ePoster Kiosk Hardware

  • PC Laptop
  • 55″ LED display in landscape orientation

Aesthetic Guidelines

  • Use a sans serif typeface such as Arial or Calibri.
  • Text should be no smaller than 12 pt.
